
Conference Overview
Keynote Speakers:
The Conference first key note would be delivered by Professor Peter Hines from Lean Manufacturing Institute Cardiff University UK, where he would explore how a whole organisations approach called Lean Business System might be employed to create innovation right across their organisation and wider supply chain. He would bring his discussion to limelight by discussing cases how these concepts are applied in the UK Insurance company, metal process industry and utility companies.
The Second Keynote would be delivered by Professor Robert Cole from Emeritus, Haas School of Business, and Dept. Sociology, UC Berkeley, USA, Executive Director, Leadership Excellence and Advancement Program (LEAP), Visiting Researcher, ITEC, Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan on "Business Models as Competitive Startegy, where he would explore the conmcpet of internal and external capabilities to develop new business models to achieve excellence and succeed in the present business environment.
The third key note would be delivered by Professor Alan Brown, School of Management Edith Cowan University, Australia on "Sustaining Business Excellence" that would would be based on current research dealing with Australian Business Excellence Award winning companies.
Conference Discussion Forums:
- Discussion Forum 1: "Celebrating the Work of Juran Chair"
The discussion forum would be chaired by Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University, UAE where he would introduce and the role of Juran Chair in the region and its importance in the regional economic development. This would followed by the Juran Chair Professor Mohamed Zairi, Assistant Chancellor for Growth & Corporate Strategy, Hamdan bin Mohammed e-University and Professor Emeritus at the School of Management, University of Bradford UK, on the contribution of Juran Chair in the region. The session would be followed by an exhibition on the works of Juran. - Discussion Forum 2: Professor Jens J. - All presented papers will be considered for Best Paper and Best Presentation award and maybe considered to publish in one of the University's refereed journals.
